Drug Uses Penlac is an antifungal medicine that is topically used to treat onychomycosis of fingernails and toenails. How Taken You should remove all loose nail and nail material before you start applying Penlac. The medicine should be applied one time a day (at bedtime) on all affected nails with the provided applicator brush. The lacquer should be applied on the entire nail. Wait for about 30 seconds before you put on socks or stockings in order to allow the medicine to dry. Do not take bath or shower about 8 hours after you have applied Penlac. Warnings/Precautions Penlac should be used only on the nails and the immediately adjacent skin. Do not let the lacquer get in the eyes or mouth. Missed Dose In case you miss a dose, apply the medicine as soon as you remember. Possible Side Effects The most frequent side effects caused by Penlac are rash-related. Consult your doctor in case you notice signs of increased irritation (redness, itching, burning, blistering, swelling, oozing) on the treated areas. Storage Penlac should be stored at a room temperature between 59° and 86° F (15° and 30° C). Keep it away from children. Overdose An overdose of Penlac is very unlikely to occur.
