Drug Uses

Eurax is used for the treatment of scabies or for reduction of itching caused by certain conditions.

How Taken

The lotion should be shaken well before usage. A thin layer of the cream or lotion should be applied on the whole body from the neck to the soles. The medicine should be applied on a dry skin and should be rubbed very well. Eurax should be left on the skin for 24 hours. After this periods ends, apply a second dose without washing the medicine applied before. The medicine should be washed off completely 48 hours after the last application.

Warnings/Precautions

Do not use more amounts of the medicine than recommended. Do not ingest the medicine. Avoid applying it in the eyes, nose or mouth. If any of your sexual or other close contacts are infected, they should be also treated. Wash all clothing, hats, bed clothes, hair brushes or combs to avoid new infection.

Missed Dose

Treatment with Eurax includes two doses 24 hours apart from each other. In case you miss a dose, the treatment may have to be repeated. Consult your doctor or pharmacist in case you miss a dose.

Possible Side Effects

Eurax is not expected to cause serious adverse effects. You should discontinue the usage of Euraz and immediately search for medical help if you experience an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; or hives).

Storage

Eurax should be stored at a room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

Overdose

In case of an overdose search for medical help. An overdose of Eurax after ingestion of the medicine may be signaled by burning feeling in the mouth; irritation or inflammation of the mouth, throat, and stomach lining; nausea; vomiting; and abdominal pain.

More Information

Avoid applying the medicine on the eyes, nose or mouth. If Eurax gets in these areas, wash it with a lot of water.
