Drug Uses

Esgic Plus is a pain reliever and a relaxant that is used for treatment of tension headaches.

How Taken

Use Esgic Plus exactly as instructed. Do not take more tables than prescribed; do not take the medicine more often or for a longer period than instructed. The common dosage for adults is one or two capsules or tablets every four hours. If the medicine contains 325 or 500 mg of acetaminophen in each capsule or tablet, do not take more than six pills per day.

Warnings/Precautions

If the medicine does not work as well as it has been working at the beginning of the treatment this may indicate that you are at risk of becoming dependent on the medicine. Do not try to relieve the pain by taking more pills. Signs of dependence on the medicine may be more often headaches than before the usage of the medicine, headache occurring a day after your last dosage, headaches occurring every day or headaches continuing for several days. If you continue using the medicine your headaches may become even more. Consult your doctor how you may relieve the headaches.

Missed Dose

In case you miss a dose, take the missed tablet as soon as you remember. However, if it is already time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and take the regular dose. Do not take a double dose to catch up the missed one.

Possible Side Effects

Consult your doctor immediately if any of the following adverse effects occur and especially if several of them occur at the same time: bleeding or crusting sores on lips; chest pain; fever with or without chills; hive-like swellings (large) on eyelids, face, lips, and/or tongue; muscle cramps or pain; red, thickened, or scaly skin; shortness of breath, troubled breathing, tightness in chest, or wheezing; skin rash, itching, or hives; sores, ulcers, or white spots in mouth (painful); sore throat; confusion (mild); mental depression; unusual excitement (mild)

Storage

Esgic Plus should be kept away from children. The medicine should be stored away from hear or direct light. Do not keep the medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in other damp places.

Overdose

If you think you or anyone else may have taken an overdose of this medicine, seek emergency medical attention. Taking an overdose of this medicine or taking alcohol or CNS depressants with this medicine may lead to unconsciousness or possibly death. Immediately search for medical help if you suspect an overdose. An overdose of Esgic Plus, or combines usage of the medicine with alcohol or CNS depressant may result in unconsciousness or even death.

More Information

Esgic Plus may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid driving, operating machines or performing other dangerous activities until you know how the medicine affects you or if you experience dizziness or drowsiness.
