Drug Uses

Condylox is the first medicine for treatment of genital warts that is approved by FDA. Condylox is used for topical treatment of anogenital warts (external genital warts and perianal warts). Its active ingredients locate the problem and treat the genital warts immediately.

How Taken

Condylox should be used exactly as prescribed. It should be applied twice a day for three days. Then the treatment should be discontinued for four days. You should not treat more than 10 cm of wart tissue and more than 0.5 ml of the solution a day. The cycle should be repeated at week intervals for a maximum period of 4 weeks.

Warnings/Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to other medicines, if you suffer from any other conditions or if you are using any other drugs. You may not been able to use Condylox or your dosage may have to be adjusted, or you may have to be monitored during the treatment. Condylox falls into the FDA pregnancy category C which means that it is not clear if it may harm a fetus. Consult your doctor before using Condylox in case you are pregnant or you plan to become pregnant during the treatment with the medicine. It is recommended that you use an effective birth control method while you are using Condylox. Consult your doctor before using Condylox if you are breast feeding because it is not clear if the medicine passes into breast milk.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible and continue taking your next doses at regular intervals. However, if it is already time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and take the regular dose. Do not take a double dose of this medicine.

Possible Side Effects

Discontinue the usage of Condylox and search for medical help if you experience an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, face, or tongue; or hives); or excessive burning, stinging, or pain or bleeding or swelling of treated skin. Other less serious side effects may also occur. Consult your doctor but do not stop using mild to moderate itching, burning, pain, or inflammation at the treated site; unpleasant odor; or pain during intercourse. You may also experience other adverse effects that are not mentioned in this leaflet. Consult your doctor if you experience some other side effects.

Storage

Condylox should be stored at a room temperature and away from moisture. Keep away from children and throw away any unused drug after the expiration date. Keep it away from children and throw away any left-over medicine after the expiration date.

Overdose

An overdose of Condylox may be indicated by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, numbness and tingling, confusion, unconsciousness, seizures, and others. Immediately search for medical help if you suspect an overdose.

More Information

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you experience difficulty breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips, swelling of your tongue, swelling of your face, rash, an irregular heartbeat, or seizures. Use Condylox only externally. Do not share Condylox with other people. You should wash your hands before and after you use the medicine.
